Love the look of stucco but afraid it won’t last in Ontario’s Climate?
Think again! Stucco is one of the most durable facade solutions available. Ideal for climates with extreme temperatures, Stucco offers increased insulation compared to vinyl or brick exteriors to keep your home cool in the summer and warm in the winter, saving you money.
Stucco creates a sleek & elegant look for the outside of your home. It draws attention to stylish features like window trimmings, outdoor pot lights, architecture and more. If you love the look of stucco, but have been debating about whether or not it’s a good investment for your home consider the following:
Stucco is extremely durable
It can withstand dramatic temperatures and harsh weather standing up to the many negative effects of snow, hail, extreme heat and gusting winds lasting decades.
It’s Low Maintenance
Stucco doesn’t need to be painted or refinished like wood or other types of siding.
Has A High R-value (insulation efficiency)
Helping you keep your home comfortable and allowing you to save on the cost associated with heating and air conditioning.
Can Lower Your Insurance Payments
Stucco is long lasting and fire resistant. Often, insurance companies make allowances for this and can reduce your insurance payments significantly, saving you quite a lot of money.
Increases The Market Value of Your Home
In addition to providing a modern and attractive appearance to your house, stucco also builds thousands of dollars of value into your home’s worth.
Rust, Mold and Mildew Resistant
Unlike other common building materials like metal, wood, or shingles, stucco won’t rot or flake off, making it an excellent choice for climates with high humidity.

More information about Stucco siding for your home:
Traditional stucco is comprised of several layers of sand, cement and lime mixture on a wire frame. Generally speaking, cracking is one of the only problems when it settles.
At Basement Bro we use new acrylic stucco systems. Acrylic is far less prone to cracking, especially in climates with more rain. With acrylic stucco systems there are multiple layers that include: polystyrene insulation, drainage channels, moisture and air barriers, fiberglass mesh as well as a base coat prior to the acrylic finish.
Maybe one of the best features of stucco is it’s versitility. It can be shaped, textured and molded to produce any effect you’re looking for in your design. It creates a seamless style and can be applied in any colour you select. It can also be painted if you change your mind.
